Information OverYap uses
- Your display name and device-linked account identity.
- Radios, memberships, invitations, and ownership information.
- Push to Talk audio used for live communication and Rewind.
- Rewind playback/listened state used to provide Catch Up and unread behavior.
- Blocks and reports used for safety features.
- Basic request, error, and service diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.
How voice is processed
Live voice is carried through our real-time communications provider, currently LiveKit. Rewind audio is stored by the OverYap backend so authorized Radio members can replay it during the retention period.
Retention
This version of OverYap uses a Rewind retention period of up to 30 days. Expired recordings become unavailable and are removed by backend cleanup.
Safety reports are moderation records and may be retained after an account or Radio is deleted so deleting an account cannot erase an already-submitted safety report.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from Settings in the app. Radios you own are deleted for everyone. Your recordings in Radios owned by other people are also deleted, along with your memberships, playback state, and device credentials.
Other people's recordings in Radios you did not own are not deleted merely because you delete your account. Existing safety reports may remain as described above.
Sharing and sale
OverYap does not sell your personal information. Information is processed by service providers only as needed to operate features such as real-time voice, backend hosting, storage, safety, and support.
Your choices

- Leave Radios you no longer want to participate in.
